Back2Nature Childcare provide children with learning based at home and opportunities for them to explore their world.

We see the child as koru, symbolising new life, growth, strength and peace.

We encourage children to be independent learners. We view children as being born with a sense of wonder and having a natural affinity for nature. Significant time spent in nature and the outdoors are critical for their physical, mental and intellectual health and development.

We provide opportunities for children and adults to appreciate and bond with the natural world.
We protect and nurture children like new seedlings growing from the ground up, fostering skills and habits of mind that will prepare them for life and further learning.

We give children opportunities for time, space, wonder, fascination, joy and exhilaration in a world full of mystery ,magic, and adventure.

We recognise and value the importance of play based learning. We support children’s learning and development by recognising their current interests, following their passions, responding appropriately, and by promoting and encouraging children’s ‘dispositions for learning’.

We value respectful and reciprocal relationships with children and their whanau. We will always have an open door policy for whanau and keep communication lines open. We believe children, family/whanau, educators and our wider community together, contribute towards our community of learners. We invite parents/ whanau to share their aspirations for their tamariki with us.

Ensuring all programmes planned for individual learning and development are underpinned by Te Whaariki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum.

We respect Te Tiriti o Waitangi and seek to ensure that the curriculum offered to children reflects this partnership.

We are committed to continuous professional development and regular self review.
